Tennis Sydney is pleased to announce its newly elected committee following the Club’s Special General Meeting, held on Sunday 22 March 2026 at Marrickville & District Hardcourt Tennis Club.
A refreshed Committee was announced during the meeting, and members were informed of a strong year of activity, growth and community connection..
The Tennis Sydney Committee for the coming year is:
President: Chris Taylor
Vice President: Tim Hill
Treasurer: Toma Ishinozeki
Secretary: William Hughes
General Committee: Mike Choi and Oscar Wong
The new committee is looking forward to working together to continue building a strong, inclusive and sustainable club — one that delivers great tennis, supports players at all levels, and continues to strengthen Tennis Sydney’s role in the LGBTQIA+ sporting community.
Thank you to our outgoing committee members
Tennis Sydney sincerely thanks outgoing committee members Shane Carter, Neto Sa and Amanda-Jo Birchall for their service and contribution over the past year.
Volunteering on a community sporting committee takes time, energy and commitment, and we are grateful for the role they have played in supporting the Club and its members. Their efforts have helped Tennis Sydney continue to grow, deliver more opportunities for players, and maintain the welcoming community spirit that sits at the heart of the Club.
Reflecting on a strong year
The past year has been a significant one for Tennis Sydney.
In 2025, the Club continued to grow its membership, welcomed many new players, and saw strong participation across Sunday Social, competitions, tournaments and development programs. Sunday Social remained a cornerstone of the Club, while the tournament calendar included major highlights such as the Trans-Tasman Cup, the Spring Classic and the Tennis Sydney Open at Olympic Park.
Tennis Sydney also continued to invest in the member experience, including through a refreshed brand, a new website, expanded partnerships and the celebration of the Club’s 40th anniversary through the Super Swingers event.
These achievements reflect the efforts of many people — committee members, volunteers, competition organisers, tournament directors, partners and, of course, the members who show up, get involved and make the Club what it is.
Looking ahead
The new committee is excited about the year ahead and focused on continuing the Club’s positive momentum.
Key priorities include supporting Sunday Social, competitions and tournaments; entering four teams in the Tennis NSW Badge Competition; growing partnerships; exploring coaching and development opportunities; and continuing to strengthen Tennis Sydney as a welcoming, well-run and ambitious community sporting club.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Tennis Sydney — whether as a player, volunteer, partner, supporter or friend of the Club.
We look forward to seeing you on court soon.
