Mid-Week Competitions
Tennis Sydney runs a variety of singles and doubles competitions throughout the year, catering to players of all standards.
From beginner and social players through to intermediate and advanced competitors,
our competitions provide a fun and inclusive environment with regular match play opportunities.
Our competitions are held at a range of venues across Sydney including Centennial Parklands Sports Centre, Moore Park Tennis,
Sydney Boys High School, Rockdale Tennis Centre, and Marrickville Tennis Club.
Competition formats include promotion and relegation leagues, rotating partner doubles, UTR match play events, and team competitions.
Many events are UTR verified, giving players the opportunity to improve their rating while competing against opponents of a similar standard.

Swingers Doubles
DATES: Every Thursday evening from 5 March to 16 April, 8:00pm – 10:00pm
VENUES: Centennial Parklands Sports Centre & Moore Park Tennis
FORMAT: Social Doubles Competition
HOW IT WORKS: Players compete in doubles matches with rotating partners each round. There are no fixed partnerships, giving participants the opportunity to play with and against a variety of players throughout the season.
SEASON LENGTH: 7 weeks
Singles Shuffle
DATES: July – August
COMPETITION FORMAT: Singles League
SEASON LENGTH: 5 weeks plus an additional week for the Final
HOW IT WORKS: Players will compete in 2 sets each week. Based on their results they will move up a division remain in the same division or move down a division for the following round. This dynamic format ensures players are regularly matched against opponents of a similar level throughout the competition.
Spring Challenge
DATES: November – December
COMPETITION FORMAT: Team Competition (Teams of 2 or 3 Players)
MATCH FORMAT: Each team match consists of 2 doubles sets and 1 singles set.
UNIQUE FEATURE: The competition will be played across 2 different court surfaces, with the first half of the season on one surface and the second half on another, creating a unique challenge and rewarding all-round players.
SEASON LENGTH: 6 weeks plus additional weeks for the Finals Series.
UTR Singles Night
FREQUENCY: Monthly
COMPETITION FORMAT: UTR Singles Competition
MATCH FORMAT: Each player competes in 2 singles sets during the event.
HOW IT WORKS: Players are grouped and matched against opponents with similar UTR ratings, creating competitive and balanced matches. Results are submitted to UTR, providing players with regular opportunities to compete, improve their rating, and track their progress.
