mpV coaching programme 2013

“I loved it!  Matt is very good as a coach and still provides individualised attention to everyone even though it's a group session. I also liked how each week was a different focus and the last 10 or so minutes were devoted to playing points out. That was definitely very useful.” Malcolm, 2012 participant.

We are pleased to announce our first round of coaching for 2013 made available through the continuing sponsorship of Tennis Sydney by the mpV.

Please note, due to changes in scheduling and coach availability, the coaching will take place on Wednesday evenings at Parklands with Matt. The first session will commence on Wednesday 20 February.

The format of the coaching will be group coaching (maximum 4 people) for 1 hour. The 1 hour coaching session will be followed by 1 hour of match play to practice and help reinforce the lessons of the day.  All the coaching sessions will concentrate on both stroke technique and the tactical aspects of match play.

Don’t delay. We have a maximum of eight places only.

Building the tactical game - Suitable for those players who have developed consistency with serving, ground strokes and return – D, C, B & A grades.

Week 1 – Week 6   Each week there will be drills on all tennis stroke techniques – forehand, backhand, serve, volley, lob, overhead – while also building a more tactical game including achieving more depth; attacking the short ball; serve and volley; cross-court play; returning in doubles/singles etc. The general focus will be on improving your technique and developing your movement and ball placement on shots.

Wednesday 20 February – Wednesday 27 March 2013 - weather permitting. Rained out sessions will be repeated.  Interested Members must be able to commit to the full 6 weeks.

7.00pm – 8.00pm (Coaching) followed by match play 8.00pm – 9.00pm
