To kick off the year, and have a little fun, we are running a tipping competition for all the Grand Slams throughout the year. Starting with the Australian Open, this is how it will work.
All you need to do to win is pick the winners of both the men’s and women’s singles final at the Australian Open.
1. The official draw for the Australian Open will be released on Friday 13 January 2012 and will be available at http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/draws/index.html
2. Entry forms will be available online through the Tennis Sydney website from Thursday 12 January and also during Sunday Social, 15 January at Parklands.
Entries close on Sunday 15 January 2012 at midnight.
3. Entry cost is $5.00. Maximum of two (2) entries per person - if you need to hedge your bets!!
4. Nominate who you think will be the winners of both the men’s and women’s finals at the Australian Open 2012.
5. All entries and selections will be published on the Tennis Sydney website – member view only - and the winning pool of money announced.
6. Settle back and enjoy two weeks of grand slam tennis and watch your fortunes rise… or fall.
The winner(s)
a. All entry money is pooled with 25% of the total kept aside to kick off the Tennis Sydney Charity Fundraising for 2012. And so on for the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
b. The remaining 75% will go to the winner or split evenly among the winners.
c. If no one picks the winners of both the men’s and women’s final at the Australian Open the pool will jackpot for the French Open. You will need to enter again in early May.
Which Tennis Sydney member has the goods to pick the winners and claim bragging rights early in the new year?
Will it be another year like 2011 in the women’s Slams with a different winner at each?
And can Novak Djokovic dominate the men’s field again?
Or will there be new names and a few surprises to add to the honour rolls?
So start checking the form, watch the lead up events and have your Australian Open men’s and women’s winners ready to enter next week.
