To chat online:-
- Login first.
- Go to My Menu with the menu item called Online Chat.
- Click on this will take you to a chat window. There is currently only one room (Tennis Sydney) to chat in.
- You can have private and public chat within the room but this uses the same chat-window:-
- To have private chat, choose the name of the user that is in the room and click on the ‘lock’ icon. To have public chat, unclick the ‘lock’ icon.
- When you are in private chat, the name of the person you are chatting to appears next to your name.. When you are in public chat, only your name appears.
Navigation within the Chat.
On the bottom of the chat window, there are numerous options. Sequentially from left to right, in the first line are the following options – time; scroll; colour palette; emoticons; message filter. In the second line, are - chatters drop-list; lock icon; chat message input.
- To turn the time off/on, click on the time.
- To turn scroll off/on, click on the double-head arrow icon
- To choose your chat message colour, click on the palette icon.
- To insert emoticons, click on the
icon and choose your emoticon. - You can filter the chat messages by either choosing All (for showing all chat messages), Mine (to show only my chat messages, or Private (to show only private chat messages).
- The drop list is for you to choose the chatter which you wish to send a private chat message to.
- To send a private chat, first choose the chatter name on the drop list (below the time). Then click on the lock icon to change it to a yellow colour. Any message sent will now be private to that chatter.
To get out of the chatroom, just click on any other menu items in the website and you are automatically out of the room.
There is a limit of up to five person chatting in the room at the same time.
A new chat session is started each time you go into Online Chat.
All previous chats are logged in the system automatically.
