New Mardi Gras
New Mardi Gras is the organisation that runs the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras as well as Sleaze Ball and a number of other events throughout the year.
Our general objective is to raise the visibility of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer communities. We do that in many ways but the most notable of these is the Mardi Gras Parade. It's an event with an interesting history so we encourage you to take a look at our history section.

The Australian Open is the first of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments held each year. The tournament is held each January at Melbourne Park. The tournament was held for the first time in 1905 and was contested on grass from then up to 1987. Since 1988, the tournament has been held on hard courts at Melbourne Park.
